MYPAS Support over Christmas
We just wanted to share an end-of-year update with you all before we finish up for the festive period. MYPAS is closed on the 27th and 28th of December as well as the 3rd and 4th of January. We’re running a reduced service on the 24th, 29th, 30th and 31st.
We know that everyone has their own struggles at this time of year especially, and while our opening hours are restricted during this time, we want to make sure you have places to reach out to if you need any support or just someone to talk to.
The team at Young Scot have pulled together a wide range of services you can get in touch with – Who to Contact for Mental Health Support. You might also want to look at the Aye Feel mental health hub, with lots of resources and ideas on how to look after your mental health and emotional wellbeing over this period.
We have our own top tips, written by MYPAS staff for looking after yourself this festive season, you can check these out here: www.mypas.co.uk/looking-after-your-wellbeing-during-lockdown/ We hope these help.
MYPAS will be running our free and confidential Digital Drop-in for young people, aged 12-21 within the Midlothian and East Lothian areas on the following days:
- 24th of December
- 25th of December
- 26th of December
- 28th of December and the
- 31st of December.
You can access this by popping onto our website on these days between 3:30pm to 5:30pm at www.mypas.co.uk
You will be able to chat online in real time with a highly experienced MYPAS worker for information and advice on any issues which are having an impact on your health and wellbeing. Young people use our Drop-in for lots of different reasons and you do not need to have a referral, or be receiving a service from MYPAS to use this.
You can chat to us about:
- Substance use
- Relationships
- Physical health
- Emotional Wellbeing
- Worries, stress or anxiety
- Sexuality and gender
For our young people who currently receive a MYPAS service: here at MYPAS we will be keeping an eye on the latest government announcements regarding restrictions and will let everyone know in advance if there are changes to the service you currently receive. This could mean a return to socially-distanced outdoor meetings but we will let you know as soon as we can.
Wishing you all a safe and healthy holiday.
